Living in Cornwall we have beautiful beaches on our door step, so its silly not to take advantage of these for shoots. I had never done an evening shoot before, so this was a challenge for me. I wanted to team up with another photographer to get more variety of photo’s and just in case mine didn’t work out!
Jo from enchanted brides has amazing talent and really captures the mood in her photography. We met at the beach with Jo loaded up with photography equipment. We chose a beach near Helston, which hindsight may have not been the best as the sun was hiding behind a huge cliff for most of the shoot! We got the model Sophie ready at my studio for hair and makeup then went to the beach.
I did struggle with my setup as I was relying on natural light and it was hiding, but I did use a reflector and I had my 1-8F 50mm lens, which helped. I did notice that I lost a lot of detail on the dress though on my photo’s. Jo’s looked great as she had 3 flash guns and a zoom lens.
Anyway here is the photo’s I took. If you know me by now I like to take portraits the best, but if you check out enchanted brides link below you can see her take on the shoot.
