I saw a makeup on Pinterest that really inspired me. I think it was a Mac shoot. The model was in water with pigments around her. I like a challenge, so I set about creating my own version. Being new to photography I don’t own a lot of lights, just a flash and my Canon 550D camera. Annabelle, the model was such a good sport letting me cover in pigments and glitter. Amanda the hair stylist had two coloured sprays for the hair. The purple one worked well but the silver was more of a glitter and went everywhere!
Amanda had a round bath and natural light in her bathroom, but it was a dark day outside so I needed the flash to get enough light on her face.
The pigments were ok in the water, but they did eventually sink and every time Annabelle moved the pigments moved away. The glitter was the best as it picked up on the light and didn’t seem to sink as easily.
I am pleased with the final look. I can always learn more about makeup and photography, but I am really enjoying the journey. 🙂
