I have always loved makeup ever since I was a young girl, drawing all over my dolls. In the 90’s makeup courses were scarce, so I went to beauty college to learn makeup. I came out with a qualification, but not a great deal of makeup knowledge. I worked in various salons, while always doing the makeup for clients, but I then some years later started to see a shift and makeup started to become more popular. I was inundated with brides wanting their makeup done. I did a course in London to refresh my skills and learnt some great makeup tips on photographic makeup.
This helped my makeup immensely as I now knew how to do makeup for the camera and as social media become popular, so did having all your photos online for everyone to see. I started to work with local photographers to do the makeup and started to get a name for myself. I eventually started to play with photography myself, which helped me even more about what looks good on the camera and lighting.
I started teaching 20 years ago setting up my own courses. I loved seeing how students grew each week. My professional courses started 8 years ago and have gone from strength to strength and seeing my students become established makeup artists in their own right. I can’t wait to share all I have learnt over the years and support you in your dream.
